Our Story
Owned and operated by Brock and Rachael Merrill, Xhale was born right here in Idaho Falls, where both owners grew up and continue to invest their hearts, time, and talents. What started over 16 years ago as a passion for wellness and hospitality has grown into a full resort and spa experience unlike anything else in the region.

From Two Massages to a Statewide Destination
Xhale Resort & Spa is more than a destination — it’s a dream brought to life by Idaho Falls natives Brock and Rachael Merrill. What began over 16 years ago as Rachael’s passion for wellness grew from a single-room practice into Idaho’s largest spa and a one-of-a-kind resort experience.
Xhale’s journey started humbly, with just two massages in its first month. Through steady growth, unwavering standards, and a commitment to quality over speed, Xhale has now delivered more than 150,000 appointments and continues to expand its impact across the state.
Built by Experience, Not Just Business
At the heart of Xhale is Rachael Merrill, a licensed massage therapist, esthetician, and nail technician who still works hands-on with guests today. Her firsthand experience shapes everything — from service standards to hiring. Every provider is personally interviewed and evaluated by Rachael, ensuring excellence is never compromised.
In 2019, Brock and Rachael purchased and fully transformed the building Rachael once dreamed of owning. With no investors or shortcuts, the family poured months of hands-on labor into the remodel. Just one week after opening, the pandemic shut everything down — but instead of stopping, they used that moment to plan the resort expansion that exists today.
Built With Grit, Sacrifice, and No Shortcuts
Built largely by Brock himself, a licensed commercial contractor, Xhale Resort reflects years of grit, sacrifice, and family teamwork. Many design choices were made not for profit, but to create a true escape — from water features and fire pits to thoughtfully designed spaces that help guests disconnect and recharge.
Today, Xhale is powered by a team of over 40 dedicated professionals and driven by one simple goal: when guests walk through the doors, they forget they’re in Idaho Falls.
